As the 77th Annual Tony Awards quickly approach, BroadwayWorld has invited the producers of the Best Production nominees to reflect on their experiences in bringing their shows to Broadway in this stellar season. This time, we hear from producer David Binder, who contributed the below essay about his four-time Tony-nominated Best Musical, Illinoise.

Tony-award-winning performer John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Shortbus, Rabbit Hole) has joined the producing team as Executive Producer for Paying for It, the live-action movie adaptation of legendary cartoonist Chester Brown’s best-selling graphic novel.

She will bring her one-woman show “Hey Bitch!” to Provincetown, MA's Post Office Cabaret every Wednesday this Summer. “Hey Bitch!” is a funny, upbeat, and moving story of how a young quiet girl goes on to name herself Bitch. The residency will run from June 26 through September 4.

NYC-based art-pop singer/songwriter Bridget Barkan has just released her new song, Good Things. 'My intention writing this song was to get myself out of deep, heavy, painful feelings and move towards the light,' the singer shared. Sonically glam/pop meets Grizzly Bear meets Pat Benatar, the former Scissor Sisters backup singer says, “theatrical performance is always there for music videos, and my dance background always finds its way back in, as well.” Watch the music video!
