In a new interview, director Richard Linklater has praised Paul Mescal, who is playing Franklin Shephard in the film adaptation of Stephen Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along. The movie, based on the Sondheim musical that is currently on Broadway, is being shot every couple of years over the course of 20 years.

Molly Gordan, writer, director and actor of Theater Camp, has found her next project. According to multiple reports, the multi-hyphenate is set to direct a reimagining of the 1987 comedy Outrageous Fortune which starred Shelly Long and Bette Midler. The film is co-written by co-written by Gordon and Allie Levitan and will center on rival actors who clash on a scrappy indie film set.

GRAMMY Award-winning singer, songwriter and musician Brandy Clark is nominated for two awards at the 2024 Americana Music Association Honors & Awards: Album of the Year (Brandy Clark) and Song of the Year (“Dear Insecurity” feat. Brandi Carlile). The awards ceremony will take place at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium on Wednesday, September 18.
