The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Announces Morrissey at The Chelsea Feb. 9

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Hotel will welcome Morrissey to The Chelsea on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 8:00 p.m.

Morrissey is revered Worldwide as one of the most important British lyricists and singers of the last few generations. He rose to prominence as the lyricist and vocalist of The Smiths, one of the most influential alternative bands of all time. The group split up in 1987 and Morrissey launched a successful solo career making the top ten of the UK Singles Chart on ten occasions. He is revered for his emotionally charged songs and lyrics, as well as his public image, all of which provide clues to his rueful, reticent and tormented personality. He often uses the songs, and the fuss they cause, to create a welcome Distance between him and the rest of the world, where he can hide, even as he shows himself off. He often is not what he seems to be. He is more mundane and yet even more mysterious.
