Spend an unforgettable evening with some of Staten Island's finest jazz musicians on Saturday, October 13th and one of America's most successful saxophonists, David Sanborn, coming to the St. George Theatre on Sunday, October 14th as part of the ST. GEORGE JAZZ FESTIVAL.

David Sanborn began playing the saxophone before High School and has since transformed his passion into 24 albums and six Grammy awards. In addition to his album success, Sanborn has scored music for movies such as SCROOGED; LETHAL WEAPON 2, 3, 4; PSYCHO III; FINNEGAN BEGIN AGAIN and more.

Yet Sanborn's involvement in Hollywood does not end there as he has been featured on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, has regularly played with Paul Shaffer's band on LATE NIGHT WITH DAVID LETTERMAN and most notable is his saxophone solo in the theme song for NBC's L.A. LAW. From 1988-89, Sanborn co-hosted NBC's late night music show, Night Music with Jools Holland and hosted his own syndicated radio show, The Jazz Show with David Sanborn. Sanborn has played with top selling artists like J Ames Brown, Eric Clapton, Stevie Wonder, Kenny Loggins, Casiopea Players Association, Elton John, Toto, David Bowie, Billy Joel, The Grateful Dead, Kenny Loggins and so many more. In 2004, Sanborn was inducted into the St. Louis Walk of Fame.

Also jazzing up Saturday night are acts like the Al Lambert trio featuring Janice Friedman, Michael Morreale Quartet, Ray Scro & his Big Band, Paul Corn's Modern Jazz Workshop and the Alex Leonard Trio. As the night goes on, the festivities will only get better when more Staten Island locals such as Tom (Bone) Petrone, Gabe Garcia, Kris Kaiser, Vinnie Ruggieri and Bill Crow & The Don Hahn Group take the stage at the ST. GEORGE JAZZ FESTIVAL.
