Roberta Flack Comes to Santa Barbara's Granada Theatre, 2/16

Internationally hailed as one of the greatest songstresses of our time, Grammy Award winning vocalist Roberta Flack appears as part of The Granada Theatre Concert Series on Saturday, February 16 at 8 p.m.

Tickets range from $45 to $78 and are available now at The Granada Theatre Box Office, 1214 State Street, Santa Barbara; by phone at (805) 899-2222; and online at www.granadasb.org.

Roberta Flack remains unparalleled in her ability to tell a story through her music. Discovered by jazz musician Les McCann while she was singing in a Washington, D.C., nightclub, Ms. Flack was promptly signed to Atlantic Records where her career took off with a string of hits including "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face," "Killing Me Softly With His Song," "Feel Like Makin' Love," "The Closer I Get to You," "Tonight I Celebrate My Love," and "Set the Night to Music." In 1999, she received a Star on Hollywood's legendary Walk of Fame.

Her most recent CDs include the 2011 interpretive album of Beatles music, Let It Be Roberta, and a collection of holiday classics and original tunes called Christmas Songs released in 2012.
Very active as a humanitarian and mentor, Ms. Flack is the founder of the Roberta Flack School of Music at the Hyde Leadership Charter School in the Bronx, providing an innovative and inspiring music Education program to underprivileged students free of charge.

The Granada Theatre is a fully restored historic 1920s theater located in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara which presents a variety of performing arts concerts and is home to several world class resident arts groups including Community Arts Music Association, Music Academy of the West, Opera Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara Choral Society, Santa Barbara Symphony, State Street Ballet, Theater League, and UCSB Arts & Lectures.
