Pigpen Theatre Co's Indie-Folk Debut LP - BREMEN - Due October 9

On October 9 the seven members of the critically acclaimed theater troupe PigPen Theatre Co.-the only company to win top honors at the New York International Fringe Festival two years in a row-release their first album, Bremen, to the general public. First released in April to friends and supporters of the company, the album is a collection of standalone original indie-folk compositions that bear the group's signature storytelling voice and acoustic instrumentations by each of its members. In support of the release, the group will play a series of shows at NYC's Joe's Pub beginning October 15. See reverse for full album and show details.

 

PigPen's musical pursuits are a natural outgrowth of their works for the stage, and many of the songs onBremen have been featured in PigPen's plays-though they are filled out and fully realized on the album in ways they could not be heard on stage. Several of the tracks come from the company's brand new Off-Broadway production The Old Man and the Old Moon, co-produced by Britt Lafield/BKL Productions andSoHo Playhouse, Inc. at The Gym at Judson (located in the iconic Judson Memorial Church), running September 26–November 25. See reverse for full production details.

PigPen's seven members met as students at Carnegie Mellon University and officially formed the company in 2008. They first performed original work professionally at a community theater in Chicago and have since have gone on to perform at New York's famous Barrow Street Theatre, the Boston Center for the Arts and The Irondale Center in Brooklyn. PigPen has sold out theaters nationwide with its shows The Nightmare Storyand The Mountain Song and made best-of lists on The Huffington Post and Time Out New York.
