continued yesterday, and so did the entertainment and music. There were some great panels and individual talks that gave people in attendance hope and answers to the questions they have about the music industry. Check out photos from the day's performances below!
Corey Taylor, who is best known for Slipknot
and Stone Sour
bands, had a great session where he shared some of his secrets to keeping afloat in the music business. While many would think he would not be a very nice person due to the lyrics of some of his songs, Corey is a very down-to-earth friendly guy from Des Moines, Iowa. He made the audience feel comfortable and at home as he answered questions and interacted with the audience. Other panels included such topics as "Navigating the Waters of Radio to Your Benefit," "All the Single Labels," and "Music Licensing for Startups."
The evening ended for many with a treat to see Green Day perform at ACL Live at the Moody Theater. Only around 2,700 people were in attendance. Green Day was at SXSW to premiere their new documentary called, "Broadway Idiot" which chronicles the making of the hit Broadway show, "American Idiot." They rocked a show that was unique and signature for their fame. They included audience members by inviting certain people to the stage to sing and perform with them. And the only way to exit the stage was to dive into the audience and crowd surfing. It was a great venue, and a great way to end a busy day for many.
Remember, there are still two days left to enjoy some of the festivities of SXSW. Check out the festival's website and see what else is left to do.
