Live at The RRazz, San Francisco's premier nightclub, Pete Escovedo and his Latin Jazz Orchestra for four shows only from March 14 to 16. Well-known in the Bay Area music scene for several decades, Pete leads what is widely considered one of the finest ensembles in Latin Jazz, a mix of musicians from both Los Angeles and the Bay Area. The legendary percussionist broke down the barriers between Smooth Jazz, Salsa, Latin Jazz and contemporary music. For more than 50 years, Pete is known worldwide for his live performances, session work and solo albums. The result is a joyous concoction of Latin rhythms with elements of jazz, R&B and funk that is hard to resist.

In the 1960's, Pete and his brother Coke formed Escovedo Bros Latin Jazz Sextet, before later disbanding in order to tour with Carlos Santana later that decade. In 1970, the brothers left the Latin Rock scene and founded Azteca, a cooperative 14-piece Latin Big band. With Azteca the brothers toured with stars such as Stevie Wonder. In 2002 Pete Escovedo made a notable national television appearance on the PBS program "Austin City Limits." The group was also a musical starting point for Pete's daughter, Sheila E. With the help of Columbia Records, the group released two albums, "Azteca" and "Pyramid of the Moon."

Pete Escovedo has recorded eight acclaimed solo albums, two albums with his daughter Sheila E., and the "Latina Familia" live album with Sheila E. and Tito Puente. The entire family has gotten together as the "E Family" to record the album "Now and Forever", featuring Pete Escovedo, Sheila E., Juan Escovedo and Peter Michael Escovedo. His latest release is "Live at Stern Grove" from 2012.
