Olivia Millerschin Releases New Single 'Screw Valentine's Day'

Seventeen-year-old Metro-Detroit teen singer-songwriter, Olivia Millerschin, will release her single, "Screw Valentine's Day," today, as part of a month-long Valentine's guitar giveaway promotion with her endorser, Teton Guitars. Millerschin's first EP, "Planted," was recently named in the list of five "Best EPs of 2012" by John Bommarito, host of Ann Arbor radio, 107.1 FM's Acoustic Brunch.

To participate, contestants fill out a sweepstakes form online via Millerschin's websitewww.oliviamillerschin.com, or Facebook fan page www.facebook.com/oliviamillerschinmusic for a chance to win a free guitar. "We are excited to team up with Olivia. Her beautifully-natural indie vocals are a perfect complement to what Teton Guitars is all about. "I wrote this song for all of the single-status, hopeless romantics, looking for love in the wrong place," said Millerschin. "Actually, those are words to the chorus of my song, but it's true. I'm excited to tie-in with Teton on the guitar giveaway, too. May a lonely heart win!"

"Screw Valentine's Day" will be one of 10 original songs featured on Millerschin's first full-length album, set to release this Spring. The album will include five breakup songs and five love songs, to "give both parties equal time," said Millerschin.

Millerschin is a senior at Rochester Adams High School, Rochester Hills, Mich., a suburb of Detroit. She performs at venues and charity events across Michigan and studied at Interlochen Arts Academy. She's been featured on Channel 2 FOX Detroit and radio stations 107.1 FM in Ann Arbor and 89.7 FM WLNZ in Lansing. In addition, she provided background vocals on the soundtrack for "The Rebound" (2012), and was featured in various Detroit area theatre programs.
