MotorCity Casino Hotel welcomes the Bonnie Raitt Slipstream Tour with special guest Mavis Staples to Sound Board tonight, August 16th at 8:00 p.m.

Bonnie Raitt is a blues, country, folk-rock singer-songwriter and a renowned slide guitar player. She has received nine Grammy Awards and just released her 19th album entitled Slipstream. In March 2000 Raitt was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; this was followed by her welcome into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame, along with her father in June 2001.

Special guest Mavis Staples is a rhythm and blues, soul, gospel singer and actress. In February 2011, Mavis won her first Grammy Award for Best Americana Album for You Are Not Alone.
