Madlib to Write and Record Score for OUR VINYL WEIGHS A TON (THIS IS STONES THROW RECORDS) Documentary

Legendary Stones Throw artist Madlib will be writing and recording the original score for OUR VINYL WEIGHS A TON (THIS IS STONES THROW RECORDS) - the authorized Stones Throw documentary by filmmaker Jeff Broadway that will follow the label's enigmatic founder, Peanut Butter Wolf, as well as explore its left-of-center artists, history, culture and global following.

Along with new recordings from other Stones Throw artists as well as some label classics, Madlib's original music will also be featured on the original soundtrack album to be released with the film as part of a 2-Disc DVD/CD Collector's Edition Box Set. The package is currently being offered on Broadway's Kickstarter for the film in exchange for a $50 donation.

OUR VINYL WEIGHS A TON is still in production, and requires further funding for additional production trips, shoots and the edit of the film. With two weeks remaining in the campaign, Broadway's Kickstarter is more than halfway to its goal of $35,000. The campaign will end on November 29th.

Starring in the film are Peanut Butter Wolf and other prominent members of the Stones Throw family. Among other artists attached to the film are Talib Kweli, Questlove, Geoff Barrow, Earl Sweatshirt and Gaslamp Killer.
