Best-selling British rock band Muse has broken the record for number of weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Alternative Chart with "Madness," the debut single off the trio's current album 2nd Law. The 2013 Grammy Award-nominated track has spent 19 weeks at No. 1, surpassing the previous record holder, Foo Fighters' "The Pretender," which peaked in 2007. "Madness" is the debut single from 2nd Law (also a 2013 Grammy nominee), which earned Muse its highest-ever debut on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart when it bowed at No. 2 a week after its October 2nd release. Muse is Matt Bellamy, Dominic Howard and Chris Wolstenholme. Since forming in 1994, they have released five studio albums selling upwards of 15 million albums worldwide. The group's last album The Resistance reached No. 1 in 19 countries around the world, and they have won numerous awards around the world including a Best Rock Album Grammy Award and an American Music Award for The Resistance. In July 2012 Muse's song "Survival" was adopted as the official song of the 2012 Olympic Games. Muse is currently on the road for its 2013 North American tour in support of 2nd Law.
