LES MIS Cast Singing 'One Day More' & 'Dream' At Academy Awards

LES MIS Cast Singing 'One Day More' & 'Dream' At Academy AwardsAll of the major players from Cameron Mackintosh's feature film adaptation of Claude-Michel Schonberg/Alain Boublil/Herbert Kretzmer's LES MISERABLES will be giving voice to not one, but two iconic anthems on Sunday's 85th Annual Academy Awards telecast.

Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Samantha Barks, Aaron Tveit, Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen and Eddie Redmayne will join together to sing the Act One Finale "One Day More", while Anne Hathaway will sing some of "I Dreamed A Dream".

The recent Broadway revival of HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING's Rob Ashford will stage the medley musical number, having previously collaborated with this year's Oscar producing team of Craig Zadan and Neil Meron on many endeavors in the past.

The music-heavy broadcast - the most music-focused telecast in history, according to the producers - will also feature Barbra Streisand singing "The Way We Were" in tribute to Marvin Hamlisch, as well as Shirley Bassey and Adele performing Bond themes as part of a James Bond 50th Anniversary tribute. Additionally, Tony Award winner Catherine Zeta-Jones and Queen Latifah are expected to join in song once more (they previously duetted on the 2002 Oscar show) in a CHICAGO tribute and Jennifer Hudson is expected to lend her Academy Award-winning cords to a DREAMGIRLS tune.

Host Seth MacFarlane will perform throughout, as well, joining Broadway regular Kristin Chenoweth for a grand finale performance at the close of the telecast.

LES MISERABLES is nominated for eight Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Actor (Hugh Jackman), Best Supporting Actress (Anne Hathaway) and Best Song ("Suddenly"). It won the Golden Globe for Best Picture (Musical Or Comedy) as well as Best Supporting Actress for Hathaway, who is the film's only frontrunner in her category going into this weekend judging by pundit predictions and industry buzz.

Check out the Daily Mail article on the matter here.

The 85th Annual Academy Awards airs Sunday, February 24, at 7 PM on ABC.
