Jefferson Starship with Imperial Messenger Service Plays Live at The RRazz, Now thru 1/20

Jefferson-Starship-with-Imperial-Messenger-Service-to-Play-Live-at-The-RRazz-117-20-20010101

Live at The RRazz, San Francisco's premier nightclub, presents the return engagement of Jefferson Starship from tonight, January 17 through January 20 as their official opening act. The legendary group - created by Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee and Jefferson Airplane founder Paul Kantner; and, David Freiberg, also a former Jefferson Airplane member and co-founder of the legendary Quicksilver Messenger Service - return from a nine country world tour for historic performances in San Francisco.

The band, descended from Jefferson Airplane - who performed at Monterey and Woodstock, at Altamont with the Rolling Stones, and shared the bill countless times with The Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin, and whose music helped define a generation focused on civil rights, environmental awareness and anti-war activism - is set to perform the landmark 1967 recording "Surrealistic Pillow" in its entirety, as a post holiday gift to hometown fans.

"Our special performances of 'Blows' and 'Pillow was so much fun and so well received in Tokyo (over Thanksgiving), we decided to bring this home to The Bay Area fans" mused Paul Kantner from his home in the city. The show will feature their repertoire of hits spanning all eras of their existence, including "Jane," "Somebody To Love," "Miracles," "White Rabbit," "Volunteers," "Count On Me," "Find Your Way Back" and many more. The acclaimed Cathy Richardson, star of Love, Janis - entering her sixth year - will front the band.

The Imperial Messenger Service - reprising the beloved canon of Quicksilver Messenger Service - will open the show. This is the debut of this side project fronted by David Freiberg and his wife Linda Imperial.

2012 proved another remarkable year for the stalwart, iconic Jefferson Starship - whose diverse projects and performances include a symphony engagement, broadcast across the U.S. on HDNET and their heralded appearance on PBS, headlining "60's Rock, Pop & Soul," still being aired coast to coast.

Live At The Rrazz plays at the Historic Cadillac Building, 1000 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco, Calif. Jefferson Starship will perform tonight, January 17 at 8:00 PM, Friday, January 18 at 7:00 PM, Friday, January 18 at 9:30 PM, Saturday, January 19 at 7:00 PM, Saturday, January 19 at 9:30 PM, and Sunday, January 20 at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $55-$65. Call 800-380-3095 // 415-394-1189 or visit www.LiveattheRRazz.com.
