Jack Petruzzelli Scoops Up First-Ever Grammy Nomination; Produces Joan Osborne's BRING IT ON HOME

Guitarist/keyboardist/producer Jack Petruzzelli celebrates his first-ever Grammy Award nomination, as he co-produces Joan Osborne's Blues covers CD 'Bring it on Home'. The 2012 release has been nominated for BEST BLUES ALBUM, and marks the latest highlight in Petruzzelli's long collaborative relationship with multi-platinum artist Osborne. The collection of vintage blues, R&B and soul songs was recorded live in the Waterfront Studios in Hudson, NY by engineer Henry Hirsch (Lenny Kravitz), who used an original 3M 24 track tape machine to recreate the warm analog sound of the era. Guest musicians include Barbecue Bob Pomeroy (harmonica), Allen Toussaint (piano on his own "Shoorah! Shoorah!") and vocalists the Holmes Brothers and Rufus Thomas' daughter, Vaneese Thomas. Jimmy Vivino, musical director on TBS-TV's CONAN show, assembled all horn arrangements and also played wurlitzer piano on "I Don't Need No Doctor."

In addition to co-producing with Osborne, Petruzzelli plays guitar on the album. He comments: "My history with Joan goes back to 1988 -- When we first started playing together, it was blues, R&B and some originals. During those years, New York City was full of clubs with great bands. It was nostalgic and refreshing to be playing this music again on 'Bring it on Home'."
