HISTORY OF THE EAGLES, Showtime

As previously announced at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, UT, Showtime has exclusively acquired the broadcast rights to the two-part documentary HISTORY OF THE EAGLES.
Granting unprecedented access, the iconic rock band partnered with Academy Award-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney (Taxi to the Dark Side, Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room), to produce this inside look into the history of the band and the legacy of its music. Part One will make its Worldwide television debut on Friday, February 15 at 8 PM ET/PT (two hours) and Part Two will premiere The Following night, Saturday, February 16 at 8pm ET/PT (one hour). In an exclusive interview with Showtime about this project, Don Henley recounts: "We've traditionally, in this band, been very private...we haven't allowed a lot of access...especially backstage and when we're not performing. Some of the things in this documentary are rare glimpses into that world that we've really never allowed before." Glenn Frey elaborates: "... this documentary is about survival; worthwhile relationships survive because people care about each other. And there are always going to be peaks and valleys, it's never going to be perfect. You enjoy the good times, you weather the bad times, and you know, you try to remember that you love each other. And here we are, you know, forty-two years later ...and we're still sitting here talking about it, it's fresh..."
