Since their formation in 2002, multi-faceted U.K. trio FOREIGN BEGGARS’ unique trajectory has seen them evolve from underground hip-hop heroes to trailblazing electronic crossover act without ever forsaking an ounce of their inimitable energy. The critically acclaimed group, individually known as MCs Orifice Vulgatron and Metropolis and DJ Nonames, has built this steadfast reputation as one of the U.K.’s most versatile, creative and prolific acts through a continuing desire to push the envelope. Deciding early on to forge their own path, FOREIGN BEGGARS made their name off the back of a slew of well-received singles and albums on their own Dented Records imprint. Having garnered international support from these foundations, recent years have seen them turn their hands to exploring an eclectic and visceral fusion of their hip-hop roots with the diversifying sounds of electronic music. In 2011, they teamed up with the Never Say Die label on The Harder They Fall EP, where they collaborated with the likes of Skrillex, Alix Perez, Lazer Sword and Excision. Following a diverse series of singles for the deadmau5-helmed mau5trap label this year, the trio are opening the latest chapter in their evolution with the release of new album THE UPRISING. Joining one of the most revered rosters of artists in electronic music, this bold move has given FOREIGN BEGGARS the chance to craft their boldest and most definitive creative statement yet. Working with an eclectic selection of electronic music’s most exciting and forward-thinking producers, THE UPRISING sees them teaming up with the likes of Knife Party, Burns, Bare Noize and Salva as well as previous collaborators Kidkanevil and Alix Perez. Allowing them to explore their myriad influences, THE UPRISING is the sound of a group continuing to hit their stride and approaching their craft with the same boundless enthusiasm that has characterized their career thus far.
