Dave Koz, PlayhouseSquare and UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital Bring Joy to Patients Today

Grammy-nominated saxman Dave Koz's contribution to our community this year will surpass his usual stellar holiday entertainment via the 15th Annual Dave Koz & Friends Christmas Tour. Today, December 6, 2012, Koz joins PlayhouseSquare and UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital to ask his fans to bring new toys or books to his 7:30 PM Palace Theatre concert. Collected items will be distributed to the hospital's patients. Also, Koz is donating $1 from each of his CDs sold at the concert to Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital.

Since Rainbow patients range from infants to adolescents, the donation suggestion list includes: baby toys/items, age-appropriate books, DVDs, CDs, games (both board and electronic), dolls, coloring books, craft kits, Matchbox cars, portable DVD players, batteries, gift cards to I-Tunes or stores adolescents would frequent. Items that CANNOT be accepted include: stuffed animals, military toys and guns, latex/rubber balloons, bubble bath or religious themed items.

Koz is well-known for his 18-year philanthropy as Global Ambassador for the Starlight Children's Foundation, an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children with chronic/life-threatening illnesses and life-altering injuries. Making it an appropriate fit for Koz to team with Cleveland's UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital, one of the nation's most renowned pediatric medical centers and a principal referral center for Ohio and bordering states.

Donated items for the children may be brought to PlayhouseSquare's Palace Theatre the day of the concert, tonight, Dec. 6, 2012 starting at 7:30 PM.
