Curtain Call Performing Arts (CCPA), is proud to present LIVE IN CONCERT WITH TANIA JOHNSON, FEATURING SEAN ALEXANDER BART the latest concert in the popular CCPA Unplugged performance series. Talented musicians ranging from opera singers to rock/reggae bands, big band and funk groups, and accomplished improve troupes, have graced the CCPA stage through the 'Unplugged' concerts in the intimate setting of California Conservatory Theatre (CCT). The diversity of art, music and theatre has excited new audiences, and performed to sold-out houses in the heart of downtown San Leandro. The latest concert showcases Bay Area musical theatre veteran Tania Johnson and L.A. actor Sean Alexander Bart. Both versatile artists are singers, pianists, and songwriters, who will share the stage as they weave through their musical worlds combining show stopping show tunes with intimate new works. LIVE IN CONCERT runs this weekend Saturday and Sunday, July 20-21.

Tania Johnson is no stranger to the world of musical theatre as a performer, sought-after musical director, and accomplished song-writer. She is excited to return to the Curtain Call stage and perform in her native San Leandro. Tania appeared with the former California Conservatory Theatre as Renabelle in RADIO GALS and as Del/Musical Director in PETE 'N' KEELEY, and worked as pianist or Music Director for CCPA's INTO THE WOODS and SEUSSICAL. As an actor, she toured California with the original cast of the National Jewish Theatre Festival's THE MESHUGANUTCRACKER! and starred as Reno Sweeney in ANYTHING GOES with The Western Stage in Salinas. She has also performed with many local companies including San Francisco Playhouse, TheatreWorks, 42nd Street Moon, Douglas Morrisson Theatre, and the gone but not forgotten Willow's Theatre Company and American Musical Theatre of San Jose. Tania has musically directed countless youth and regional productions and played keyboard in countless more pit orchestras. Locally, she has musically directed productions at both San Leandro High and Bancroft Middle School.

A native of the SF Bay Area, Sean Alexander Bart is a multi-faceted performer, conductor, writer, composer and educator. With intensive childhood training from the SF Conservatory of Music in classical piano, voice and theory, he is similarly accomplished as both a singer and pianist/keyboardist in musical theater, jazz, rock and pop. Sean has performed throughout the Bay Area, both on stage and in the pit, in such companies and venues as Pocket Opera, Theaterworks, Ray of Light Theater, the Willows, the Fillmore, Slims, and the Great American Music Hall. He has appeared on syndicated radio and traveled to Quebec and Cuba with the Ragazzi Boys' Chorus, and recently traveled to New Orleans as an actor in the world premiere of Wayne Self's dramatic musical UPSTAIRS. Recently relocated to Los Angeles, he has appeared in music videos, TV and films, including a lead role in THE STRANGER by James Caballero and a featured role in Making It by Katarina Fabic, both of which have had successful, award-winning runs in the festival circuit.

"Having both Tania and Sean on the Curtain Call stage is very exciting. They bring their rich musical theatre and performance background, each with their own unique flair. The concert is a homecoming of sorts for both of them, and these true entertainers are sure to delight our audiences for this limited engagement," said Andrea Gorham, CCPA Founding Artistic Director.

This weekend, see these two accomplished performers up close and personal. LIVE IN CONCERT WITH TANIA JOHNSON, FEATURING SEAN ALEXANDER BART, runs for a limited engagement Saturday, July 20 at 8PM, and Sunday, July 21 at 2PM and 7PM, at the California Conservatory Theater.
