Celine Dion Raises $1 Million with Performance Benefitting Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is one step closer to finding a cure for cystic fibrosis thanks to a little help from some superstar friends. More than $1 million was raised in support of cystic fibrosis research efforts last night during a special performance "Adding Tomorrows with Celine Dion," a partnership with international music icon Celine Dion, Caesars Entertainment, AEG Live and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Held at Caesars Palace, the evening included a performance of Celine Dion's glamorous show by Grammy Awards producer Ken Ehrlich and featured a touching tribute to those with cystic fibrosis during her rendition of Billy Joel's "Lullabye."

Funds from the benefit concert will support critical research for cystic fibrosis, a fatal genetic disease that causes debilitating lung infections and premature death. As the world's leading organization fighting cystic fibrosis, the CF Foundation funds more research than any other organization and is fueling tremendous advances toward a cure and improving the lives of those with the disease.

Celine lost her niece Karine to cystic fibrosis in 1993 and has been involved in the fight against this disease as the Celebrity Patron for Cystic Fibrosis Canada since 1982.

"The cystic fibrosis cause holds a very special place in my heart and I'm honored to have been able to team up with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, my partners at Caesars Entertainment and AEG Live to help raise funds and awareness for this worthy cause," said Celine. "We're making dramatic progress in treating this terrible disease, and I truly hope that one day soon, CF will stand for 'cure found.'"

Prior to Celine's benefit performance guests who purchased special VIP packages were treated to an exclusive welcome reception and group photo with Celine during her pre-concert sound check, dinner at Old Homestead Steakhouse and admission to a private post-concert reception at Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill sponsored by Southern Wine & Spirits.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is the world's leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis. The Foundation funds more CF research than any other organization, and nearly every CF drug available today was made possible because of Foundation support. Based in Bethesda, Md., the Foundation also supports and accredits a national care center network that has been recognized by The National Institutes of Health as a model of care for a chronic disease. The CF Foundation is a donor-supported nonprofit organization. For more information, go to www.cff.org.
