The Blue Note Jazz Club reopened last night, November 3rd after the longest closure in its illustrious 31-year history. Prior to hurricane Sandy, the club had only been closed four days in its existence (all due to external circumstances): two days for 9/11, one day in 2011 for Hurriance Irene, and one day for a blizzard during a Nancy Wilson show (year unconfirmed).
The club reopens with a five day run with Chick Corea and Stanley Clarke's newest band featuring Ravi Coltrane (sax), Marcus Gilmore (drums) and Charles Altura (guitar).
The Blue Note's last show before closing for Hurricane Sandy was the Jimmy Heath Big Band 86th Birthday Celebration, Sunday, October 28th at 10:30pm. The Buika concerts of the past week have been postponed to a date TBD.
Chick Corea and Stanley Clarke's band will play Saturday - Wednesday, November 3 – 7, 8pm & 10:30pm at The Blue Note, 131 West 3rd Street, New York, NY. Tickets: $65-75 table seats, $45 at bar.
Club Policies: Doors open at 6pm nightly. Reservations highly recommended – available online or by calling the club at (212) 475-8592. Reservations held no later than 30 minutes prior to showtime. Seating is first come, first served. We DO seat incomplete parties. American Express Preferred Seating available at www.bluenotejazz.com.
