Bill Irwin Performs One Night Only at Joe's Pub

Bill-Irwin-Performs-One-Night-Only-at-Joes-Pub-20010101

The Public Theater will present Bill Irwin and Doug Skinner in Late Night Foolin' at Joe's Pub on Thursday, November 17 at 11:30 p.m. for one night only. King Lear company members Kelli O'Hara and Michael McKean are expected to take the stage for some brief musical moments, and the evening will also include a roast of Sam Waterston. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at (212) 967-7555, www.joespub.com, or in person at The Public Theater box office.

In Late Night Foolin' Bill Irwin and Doug Skinner will dust off well-worn bits of clown material, novelty song and Vaudevillian story-telling from their years of working together. They'll be inviting various friends to join them on stage after the evening's King Lear performance down the hall at the Newman Theater (in which Irwin plays the Fool, serving Sam Waterston's King Lear).

Bill Irwin has appeared at The Public in The Tempest and Texts for Nothing (OBIE Award). His Broadway credits include Bye Bye Birdie; Waiting for Godot; Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (2005 Tony Award); and The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia? Off-Broadway he appeared in Mr. Fox: A Rumination, The Regard Evening, The Harlequin Studies, and Trumbo: REd White and Blacklisted. His film and television credits include Rachel Getting Married, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and "The Cosby Show."

Michael McKean recently appeared on Broadway in Tracy Letts' Superior Donuts, Hairspray, and The Homecoming. McKean originated the role of Lenny Kosnowski on television's "Laverne and Shirley." He was a cast member on Saturday Night Live from 1994 to 1995. His select film credits include This is Spinal Tap, Clue, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind, and For Your Consideration.

Kelli O'Hara has appeared on Broadway in the Tony Award-winning revival of South Pacific at Lincoln Center, The Pajama Game, The Light in the Piazza, Dracula, Sweet Smell of Success, Follies, and Jekyll and Hyde. Her film credits include Sex and the City 2, The Key to Reserva, and The Dying Gaul. She has recently released her second solo album "Always."
