According to The Hollywood Reporter, a source close to Super Bowl XLVII has revealed to The Associated Press that Grammy-winning superstar Beyonce will be the halftime performer at this year's Superbowl, taking place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans on February 3, 2013. The source spoke on condition of anonymity. An official announcement is expected to come tomorrow.
The superstar's hits include "Crazy in Love," 'Irreplaceable" and "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)." The 16-time Grammy winner crooned the national anthem at Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2004 in her hometown of Houston, in which the New England Patriots defeated the Carolina Panthers.
Last year's Super Bowl spectacular featured Madonna with guests Cee Lo Green, Nicki Minaj, LMFAO and M.I.A. In that exciting game, The New York Giants beat the New England Patriots in a rematch of the contest four years earlier. The performance was viewed by 114 million people, a higher average than the game itself, which was seen by an estimated 111.3 million people, according to the Nielsen Co.
No word yet as to whether Beyonce's husband, rapper Jay-Z will accompany her on stage.
