'An Evening with Jerry Lewis – Live from Las Vegas!' Plays The Orleans Showroom, 11/18

The Orleans Hotel and Casino has announced An Evening with Jerry Lewis – Live from Las Vegas!, a one-night-only celebration at The Orleans Showroom, Sunday, November 18 at 8 p.m. The event will be filmed for a PBS television special premiering around Lewis's 87th birthday in March 2013. Tickets go on sale Saturday, October 6 at 12 p.m. PST.

An Osmond Entertainment event, produced by Jimmy Osmond and George Paige, An Evening with Jerry Lewis – Live from Las Vegas! will feature Mr. Lewis himself, live on stage telling stories of his eight-decade career through narrative and musical performances, with video montages from his television and film appearances –including rare, never-before-seen clips from his personal and private vaults.

Act One (The Early Years) will focus on Lewis' entry and early success in show business. Act Two (Kings of Comedy) will highlight his years with Dean Martin as part of the most popular comedy duo in entertainment history while Act Three (Jerry… Alone at the Top) will recap his launch to solo superstardom and globally recognized philanthropist. The evening will wrap with a Q&A session between Lewis and the audience.

A consummate entertainer and world-renowned humanitarian, Jerry Lewis is a cultural icon throughout the world. Named one of "The Most Recognized Personalities on the Planet" by Newsweek magazine, Lewis was the first entertainer ever to be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize.

Lewis has received global acclaim for his groundbreaking comedy, with worldwide box office receipts in excess of $800 million. He has been said to carry the torch lit by Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton, earning him the moniker "The King of Comedy."

Lewis first performed alongside his parents in vaudeville at age five, later leaving high school to embark on a career of "Satirical Impressions and Comedic Pantomimicry." He began performing stand-up at the age of 15. His meteoric rise to fame began in 1946 at the age of 20, when he teamed with Dean Martin.

Lewis was the first mainstream filmmaker since Chaplin to do it all himself - writing, producing, directing and starring in his own movies. Still performing at the age of 86, he has appeared in more than 50 films, directed a dozen movies, had 13 television specials, three television series (including a stint as host of the immensely popular "Colgate Comedy Hour" with Dean Martin), an NBC radio show, recorded numerous albums, been the hero of a comic book series, authored four books, and made thousands of other appearances on TV, stage (including a hit Broadway and tour run in "Damn Yankees" from 1994-97) and in nightclubs all over the world.
