Soundgarden to Rock 'Live on Letterman' Webcast, 11/12

CBS Interactive's award-winning concert webcast series, LIVE ON LETTERMAN, presented by AT&T, will showcase two-time GRAMMY® Award-winning rockers Soundgarden in a live webcast concert from the world-famous Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City, available on CBS.com and VEVO, Monday, Nov. 12 (8:00 PM, ET/5:00 PM, PT).

Soundgarden will perform fan favorites as well as new songs from their upcoming album, King Animal, including their first single, "Been Away Too Long." King Animal will be released on Nov. 13, the day after their LIVE ON LETTERMAN performance.

The LIVE ON LETTERMAN franchise has surpassed 130 million views to date on CBS.com and VEVO. Past performances have included some of the most established bands and musicians across the globe, from its first event which featured Pearl Jam, to Paul McCartney on the marquee of the Ed Sullivan Theater, Foo Fighters, Katy Perry, Coldplay, Adele, KISS and more, all staged in an intimate and dynamic setting for worldwide followers to enjoy.

Fans can watch Soundgarden's webcast live or on-demand on CBS.com at http://www.cbs.com/shows/liveonletterman/. Additionally, the show is available live and on-demand through CBS properties, broadcast on select CBS RADIO stations, viewable live on CBS's JumboTron in Times Square, as well as via a live audio stream on Radio.com's mobile applications. The webcasts are also offered on VEVO, the world's leading all-premium music video and entertainment platform, through VEVO.com and its free mobile and tablet apps for iPhone, iPad and Android. The on-demand performances are available across the entire VEVO platform, including VEVO.com, its mobile and tablet apps, mobile website, connected TVs and syndication partners.

With two GRAMMY ® Award wins, seven overall nominations and over 21 million records sold worldwide, Soundgarden redefined rock music for a whole generation and has had a revolutionary impact on the course of musical history. Soundgarden was formed in 1984 and is often recognized as one of the bands that brought the Seattle music scene to the world stage. After announcing a hiatus in 1997 to pursue other projects, the band – Chris Cornell, Matt Cameron, Kim Thayil and Ben Shepherd – announced a new beginning in 2010. In the three years since they reunited, Soundgarden released their first retrospective, Telephantasm, which was certified platinum; their first live album, Live on I-5; penned the end title song "Live to Rise" for the feature film The Avengers, which went to #1 on Modern and Active Rock radio; and headlined sold-out shows and festivals around the world. Soundgarden remains a truly "alternative" band as they embark on the next chapter of their journey, steadfast in their roots with 15 years of growth behind them.
